About VP Plumbing & Heating

My name is Vincent Puleo owner of V.P. Plumbing and Heating, covering Suffolk County area on Long Island. I started out in plumbing when I was 12 years old. My dad was a Master Plumber and would take me out on jobs with him as a helper. As the years went by, my dad taught me more about different plumbing systems and situations. It wasn’t long before, I was doing my own projects with my own customers. One piece of advice that always stood out was, “a happy customer breeds a healthy business”. That always appealed to me, who wouldn’t want to get paid to make people smile.
At age 18, I started working for a local plumbers union as a residential plumbing apprentice. I learned quickly mainly because I was trained from such a young age. After two years, I was installing all types of plumbing and heating systems in homes. Three years later, I started in the Local 200 “A” program. This was a big step in my career since it required a commitment of five years of union plumbing training school, which required working for a union commercial plumbing contractor by day and attend school at night. I received on-the-job experience while attending training. At the end of the 5 years, I was certified in plumbing codes, medical gas, welding, water distribution systems, sewage waste systems, as well as all gas installation systems and all heating systems. I could do it all!
I worked with a local #200 for 15 years, until 2007. At that time the recession hit and I was basically without work for two years. After struggling with inconsistent union work for two years, I decided to start my own plumbing and heating business.
V.P. Plumbing and Heating was started in 2009. It felt at the time to be an impossible feat but we made it through the tough times. People started getting back on their feet and spending money again. Some will say that I was lucky, but I believe if you provide an honest service at an honest price you don’t need any luck. Since then our team has grown, but we still strive to make every customer a happy customer.
The hard times of our lives help to define who we are, what we are, and what we can accomplish. I am proud to say that I’m the sole owner of VP Plumbing and Heating, Suffolk County plumbers.
